Apple Pickin' Time

On Labor Day, we headed to the apple orchard for a fun-filled afternoon of apple picking. It was a hot one, but we still enjoyed ourselves very much. Colin, of course, loved anything and everything to do with the tractors and the wagon that we got to ride in that led us to the orchard. Both boys had a good time picking. Afterwards, we went to a restaurant for pizza and games.
We're still eating our apples...probably picked close to 2 dozen....honeycrisp and some yellow ones (can't remember the name). And now, we're devouring the FIRST pie I have ever made. Whoo hoo! I used my mom's homemade crust recipe and it turned out great. (THANKS MOM!!)Hopefully in the next few days, I'll make some apple bread...and maybe some other goodies. We'll see.
