Road Trip: Salzburg, AT

After leaving Oberammergau, we continued onto Austria.   From O'Gau, it was about a 2-1/2 hour drive to Salzburg, Austria.  And if you saw my last post, this is where the Sound of Music was filmed.   Before leaving on our road trip, we introduced this movie to the boys.  They loved it, of course, and it made going to Salzburg that much more special.   We only spent a day & a night in this beautiful, classy city, but we had a great time.

If you want, you can take a Sound of Music Tour in Salzburg.  Our hotel was even playing the film on certain nights a week.   Since we were limited in time, we just walked the city ourselves.

Mirabell Gardens
Part of the movie, Sound of Music, takes place in this garden.  The kids from the movie are running through it..singing and dancing.

We were in Salzburg the day before Palm Sunday and saw lots of people buying or carrying these palms on a stick.
