Refinishing the basement.....

Michael (God love him!) and I spent his vacation between Christmas and New Year's redoing our basement. We cleaned walls, painted walls, ceilings, and underbelly of stairs, and laid carpet tile. We painted the walls a tan color & the soffit and underbelly of stairs a deep red. We also bought a really nice screen to hide the washer/dryer & a new red chair. That chair was actually meant to go on the main level once the christmas tree was down, but it looks so good down there since it matches the red paint! We'll probably still put it upstairs and find something similar or buy another one in the future. These photos were taken right before Michael's graduation party. We got the basement done in the nick of time! Now, the boys are enjoying the extra space as another place to play. It's a great multi-purpose room! We love having the extra 400 sqft. of space! And we love it even more being able to walk downstairs to change the laundry and NOT have to put shoes on!!! Oh the little things in life that make us happy......

A big thanks goes out to my Uncle Tom for the incredibly generous Christmas gift---we were able to buy the screen with your gift-- THANK YOU!

Wow! I never saw your basement before this, but it looks awesome! Red is such a cool accent color, it makes everything look richer, don't you think?
