Last week while we were at the grocery store, Eric, the store manager came to visit with the boys as I was bagging up the groceries. Most of you reading this know me...and we do not live in a small country town. But, it sure seems like it at the grocery store since we've become so acquainted with the employees there. I'm mean, there's Don in produce.....Eric and Mark, the store managers....and all the checkers....Mary, Valerie, the other Mary, Gale, Teresa...etc etc. It's cute, but silly at times. Sometimes the shopping takes 1-1/2 hours since we have to talk to everyone! They are really nice there so I can't complain....so nice in fact that the boys have received 2 toy lego cars from them...a cheerio one and a hamburger helper one. Anyway, So Eric was visiting and asking Aidan about the scrape on his wrist. He said to Aidan, "I bet you scraped your knees too when you fell down." Aidan got all in his pouty voice and said, "I'm not a niece, I'm a nephew!" I put two and two together...and tried to explain to Aidan that Eric was talking about his "knees," not his "niece!" I guess he heard that word and didn't listen to the rest. The boys have been learning all about relationships at school too, so maybe that was on his mind. Silly boy!
Tonight, we had stirfry for dinner. I had some of those crunchy Asian noodles on the table, and Colin said, "Mommy, I want a needle!"
Guess we better work on enunciation in our house!! :-)
