In other kid news....

The picture below shows Aidan waving a Greek flag (center left).  He was part of a ceremony that was held in November 2012.  S.H.A.P.E. Elementary received the National Blue Ribbon Award of Excellence in 2012 and a handful of kids performed the school song for the Saceur during the award ceremony.  The Blue Ribbon Award is a very elite award given to schools with high levels of achievement.

This picture shows the diversity within the American School at S.H.A.P.E.  There are students who attend the American School from each of the flags represented.

Toward the end of the school year, some exciting things happened.  Cub Scout Aidan crossed over from Wolf to Bear.  There was a bbq with a BIG bonfire.  Out of 4 second grade classrooms of about 75 kids, Colin was one of the 12 finalists for the 2nd grade spelling bee!  Way to go, Colin!  Aidan also received an award for reading the most books in his particular classroom and earned a Citizenship award.  Nice work, Aidan!  Finally, Colin's club, Roots and Shoots, got to perform in front of and meet Dr. Jane Goodall.  Wow, what a fantastic experience!
