On Day 3, we decided to drive to see a castle in Brittany called Chateau de Fougeres.
Cow parade down our B&B street!
(These cows graze on the public farm/salt marsh that surrounds the bay of Le Mont St. Michel.)
View of the Chateau de Fougeres from the Gardens of Place Aux Arbres.
It is one of Europe's largest medieval fortresses.
Walking through these hilly gardens on our journey to the castle
Beautiful countryside
Hiking down

Love these old medieval houses
and the details!
To give you an idea of the scale of this chateau, check out the small car coming through the gate.
And this huge tower compared to the houses in the background!

Fougeres castle has 13 towers and walls that are over 10 feet thick!
