Day 5: Train through the mountains!

SATURDAY, JULY 25TH, 2009

Today, we decided to all head to Georgetown, Colorado, about an hour or so from Morrison where Tim & Claire live. We figured riding a train through the mountains would be a gorgeous, fun & easy way for the boys to be in the mountains without having to exert a lot of energy. They loved it & so, did the rest of the us!! The views were absolutely stunning!

Entering Historic Georgetown, cool mountain town!

Devil's Gate Station.... 8,615 ft in elevation

We were taking in the amazing views while waiting for our train

Breathtaking view from our train!

Daddy & Aidan enjoying the ride

We sat in the open-air part of the train which was spectacular!

Can we build our new house over there??!!

The Newlyweds enjoying time with their nephews!

Historic Downtown Georgetown...quaint little shops and restaurants

At the restaurant where the boys were entertained by their new toy trains
What a wonderful way to view the mountains! There is such beauty out here! It's hard to not feel a sense of peace while taking in all the sights. After our amazing journey in Georgetown, we headed back to the house where everyone rested a bit. Then, we got all jazzed up and headed to downtown Denver for a superb dinner at The Denver Chophouse. 4 out of the 5 adults enjoyed the exquisite Buffalo Medallions covered in a red wine reduction sauce & gorganzola cheese & paired with white cheddar mashed potatoes. IS YOUR MOUTH WATERING YET? Mom enjoyed lobster and the boys ate off of the kids' menu. They looked sharp in their wedding outfits minus the vests/ties. They really enjoyed themselves, as did the rest of us! Thanks Tim & Claire for a wonderful dinner!!!!!! Can't wait to go back! It's become a must-go-to-restaurant while we are in Colorado. (This was Mike and I's 2nd time there!!)
