Surprise Trip!!

So, my AMAZING husband has been planning a SURPRISE get-a-way trip for the two of us in October. He's been planning this at least since the spring time. He's been secretive about it other than asking me about good dates and checking with the grandparents. The little amount that he's told me is that I won't find out the destination until we check in at the airport. HOW SWEET IS THIS!!!! He said he would let me know temperatures so I would know what to pack. He said it would be around 60s during the day. Eeek...I love that type of weather! I've been trying to keep my ears open for clues. One time he said that we would be flying about 4 hours away. So my mind starting wondering..."Could this be on the west coast?" Other than our trip to San Francisco/Napa Valley, I haven't really seen much on that coast. I began eliminating out of the country areas like Canada because he would have asked me for my passport. I knew it wouldn't be Mexico. Mike has no desire to go there...ever! Part of me wanted to know, but most of me was so enthralled with the romantic idea of it being kept a surprise. The unknown in this fashion can be SO exciting!! SO INCREDIBLY EXCITING!!!

So, we were talking on Thursday night out on the porch. Mike was talking about having to go out of town in November close to my birthday. He would be leaving soon after our surprise trip. I jokingly said to him while trying to discover the dates for his work trip, "Don't sugar-coat it Mike, I already know you are going to be out of town on my 30th b-day." Later I discovered that to him it sounded NOT so joking...and he got kind of flustered and blurted out the destination of our surprise trip. He was making the point that he would have to leave only 4 or 5 days after the __________ trip. I was like....OMG....he just said it!! I wasn't trying to get it out of him. I was actually disappointed for about a....... milli-second..... and then just SOOOOOO excited that we would be headed toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
PORTLAND, OREGON
in October!! :):):):):):):):):):) (can you sense my excitement). I still think it was the most romantic idea for my husband to want to surprise me with a destination trip. He gets lots of credit for that!! Nice job, honey! One day maybe a couple years down the road...it will be my turn to do this for you!! I love you!
