Paris: Day 3

Day 3:  November 2nd

On Day 3, we wanted to check out the musee de Louvre.   The museum is enormous, and we really only toured 1 wing.  It could take days to tour the entire museum.   We went in the morning until the boys were ready to leave, and then we came back later that night to see if they could do more.

Look who we saw outside of the Louvre...Batman and Superman!

Love the old and the new!

Silly Aidan!

Jesus carrying the cross

There she is!   (Quite a small painting)

It was hard to fully appreciate Da Vinci's work because there were so many people around it snapping pictures and trying to get themselves in it with her in the background.  And then doing the same with E-V-E-R-Y member of their family.   Oh well.

If you turn 180 degrees from the Mona Lisa, you will see an enormous painting of the Wedding at Cana.  It's the entire size of the wall, and absolutely stunning!   Probably one of our favorites at this museum.

Old-time Carrousel
(Coolest carrousel--- The boys each had a small pole, and they tried
to catch circular keys that were hanging off the
lantern that the man was holding.  They did well!

Not quite a Fishback, but close enough!  (St. Germain district)

Check out this hot chocolate!  Yum!

Back at the Louvre with our artists!
(I made up little Paris books for the boys to check off
monuments/paintings as they saw them.
Here they are drawing their favorite paintings.  :)
