Today marks 6 months since our arrival in Belgium. In many ways, it seems to have gone by in a flash. We are so incredibly happy, and I am very thankful for that. Michael couldn't be happier at work. He works hard, but really enjoys his coworkers he has gotten to know . The boys don't really appear to have skipped a beat in this move at all. And to be honest, their happiness was our #1 concern prior to moving. Aidan just commented on Sunday that he was excited to go to school the next day because he loves it and his friends! Colin has said similar things. We have also met some great families from our stay at the lodge, through church, work, french class, and neighbors. We feel blessed!
In other ways, when we think about our families and friends back home, it seems like a while since we've been gone. We, of course, miss you all lots! Thankfully, frequent phone calls and skype help keep the heart happy.
On this first day in February, we want to wish Emily, Pop, and Angelyn a very happy birthday!!
And finally, this week sadly marked the 6th month anniversary of our family losing Michael's younger cousin, Billy. We think of you all the time, Billy, and not just this week or earlier in the month on your birthday. Michael and I both looked at each other with wide eyes when we had a waiter recently that resembled you. We are praying for you and know that you are looking down on all of us. We love you Billy. RIP
