Luxembourg & Germany

A couple weekends ago, we decided to spend my birthday weekend in Germany & Luxembourg. It was right at a 2-1/2 hr drive.  It's still amazing to me that we can drive in any direction in Belgium and be in 4 different countries in 2 hours or less depending on which way you go.  Of course if you travel west, you'll be in the North Sea, but you know what I mean!  In our hometown, we would still be in the same state!  We stayed at an airbase in Germany and had this huge apartment for very cheap.  On my birthday, we drove into Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.    Luxembourg is even smaller than Belgium.  It is only 50 miles from north to south and less than that going east to west.  Our weather forcast for Belgium predicted rain all weekend, but somehow we got lucky & dodged this weather during our day in Luxembourg City.  It was gorgeous.  We didn't do anything in particular, but just had a lovely day walking around the Old Town, eating a great lunch, and enjoying the nice fall weather.
