Around the Town......

The last few days have been quite exciting. Kees, Mike's cousin from Holland, stayed with us. On Wednesday, Mike picked him up from the airport. They had a great lunch at a wood-burning pizzeria. Then, they headed to the Arch and a tour of Anheuser Brewery. Kees was really impressed by the Arch. That evening, we had a wonderful dinner with the entire Geerling family. Most of the family dressed in orange to show their patriotism toward Holland. Kees thought that was humorous. Mike, Colin, Aidan and I must have missed that memo! That night after putting the boys to bed, the three of us sat on the porch and enjoyed the nice weather and great conversation!

On Thursday, Colin was a bit under the weather with his ear bothering him, so Mike and Kees took Aidan to the zoo while I rested with Colin at home. They even got to see new tiger cubs that were out prancing around the pit. After the zoo, the three of them headed toward the boathouse, where Aidan (aka: Captain) yelled out a bunch of orders while Daddy and Kees pedaled to keep up ("Keep going"...."This way"...."Go...no stop!").... HA HA!!

Thursday evening after I took C-man to the doctor, Mike bbq-ed some gorgeous steaks. While Mike bbq-ed, Kees gave the boys some fun gifts. We had a wonderful time at dinner.

And the boys really began to warm up to Kees. He was their newest "best friend". (they have many!!) And they kept telling him that they loved him. Awwwww! Kees was excellent with them.

I couldn't resist showing you this next photo of what we call the "Budha Belly"!! We used to call Colin "Budha" when he was a baby b/c he was so incredibly chubby. For being a good boy at the doctor, Colin received some stickers. At first he put them on his shirt, and then, he placed them on his belly. He thinks this is more fun! Pretty cute!

On Friday, Mike took Kees to the botanical gardens & then to show him around Wash U. They had lunch in the Loop area and then, Kees was gone. It was such a great 3 days. We can't wait for Kees to come back and stay with us again. We all had so much fun!!
