Tuscany: Monte Argentario~ Part 6

Midway through our trip, we drove to the breathtaking peninsula of Monte Argentario.  At one time, this area was an island.  However overtime, sand built up connecting Monte Argentario to the mainland of Italy by the isthmus of Orbetello.  So now, it's easy to drive to the former island.

Porto Santo Stefano

This is a spectacular seaport town!

Love the warm colored buildings!

Tim & Claire heading to the port

When we first arrived, Colin & Aidan were ready to swim.  So, we did that while Tim and Claire went to see the gorgeous port.

Our swimming hole....not a bad place to be for the afternoon!   ;)

Having fun with Dad!

Soaking up the rays....like Father, like Son

Mom enjoying the sun too!

Tim & Claire enjoying this beautiful spot

The beaches here were all rock!  Sand shoes needed!

Lovely

Would love one of these boats!

The amazing port and hill-town!

All these sailors from different countries were arriving from a race or something the day we visited.

It made me want to "live the life of a sailor" for a day!

Tim & Claire- portside

Enjoying some food and wine

Looking down at the port

Later, when Tim & Claire returned for a swim, we ventured out into the town.

My lunch...catch of the day!

Once back swimming, the boys discovered a great place to jump!

Our last stop before leaving this seaside town was for gelato, of course  :)

So long, Monte Argentario!  You truly are a magnificent place to visit!
